Good reception at hospital

THE opening hours of the reception area at a new hospital have been extended to improve the flow of information to patients.

The Midlothian Community Hospital, which opened ahead of schedule in September, will now have the facility from 8am until midnight every day.

It is one of a number of new facilities at the Dalkeith hospital, which comprises a range of various medical provisions previously available at different places across Midlothian.

The centre allows GPs to have access to x-ray and ultrasound equipment, while the physiotherapists have access to a massive new gym.

Project manager Andrew MacDonald said: "The new building has been well thought out. Most of the rooms are designed to be occupied by one person, and have features you would expect to find in a hotel."
