Golf day comes to the fore for swinging fundraiser

Izzy and Ken Cameron, of Mortonhall, Edinburgh, are hosting a fundraising golf day at the Royal Burgess Golf Club on August 31 for a cause that is very close to home.

Ken’s 12-year-old son, Robbie (Izzy’s step-son), has Stargardt disease, an inherited eye condition which destroys the central vision of the eyes at an early age.

The golf day proceeds are to be split between Fight for Sight, a charity dedicated to funding pioneering research into sight loss and eye disease, and George Watson’s Family Foundation, a charity supporting Robbie’s fellow students at George Watson’s College.

Izzy said: “Everyone taking a swing on the day will be giving hope to people just like Robbie who are living with sight loss.”
