Go wild for appeal calendar

All profit from the limited edition £5 calendar will go towards the Save the Circus Bears appeal, which was launched by the zoo to rescue Suzy, Carmen and Peggy from a temporary holding centre in Belgium and bring them to a new enclosure at the zoo.

Animals ranging from meerkats to reindeer feature in the 2012 calendar. A total of 1000 copies have been made, which are available to buy from the zoo.

Brian Curran, owner of the zoo which has raised £36,000 so far, said: “We are overwhelmed by the level of support to our campaign. Every calendar sold is another step forward in bringing Suzy, Carmen and Peggy here.”
