Go-ahead for services plan

DETAILED plans to transform Linlithgow’s County Buildings into a one-stop shop for public services are set to go ahead.

More than £140,000 would be invested in creating a Linlithgow Partnership Centre in the High Street.

The building will include a relocated Linlithgow library and new offices for Lothian and Borders Police.

All customer enquiries would be handled from a redecorated reception area, with new meeting spaces created for community groups.

West Lothian Council are expected to give the green light on Tuesday to seeking planning permission and building warrants.

Six buildings, along with a health centre and police station, are being used to deliver council services under existing arrangements.
