Glasgow revealed as selfie capital of Scotland
New research, based on images uploaded to photo-sharing app Instagram, showed that Glasgow has 54 selfie-takers for every 100,000 people - making it the 37th most popular city in the world for taking selfies.
Scotland’s largest city proved more popular than Seattle, Singapore and Stockholm for taking selfies.

Hide AdEdinburgh is slightly behind Glasgow, with 50 selfie-takers for every 100,000 people, putting it at 46th in the global rankings, ahead of Sheffield, Dubai and Dublin.
TIME Magazine carried out an examination of over 400,000 Instagram photos tagged with the word ‘selfie’ and an identifiable geographic location.
Overall, 459 cities with populations of 250,000 and over were included in order to discover the ‘selfiest’ place on the planet.
The most popular place for selfies was Makati City and Pasig in the Philippines, with 258 selfie-takers for every 100,000 people.
Manhattan in New York was some way behind in second, with 208 selfie-takers per 100,000 people and Miami came third with 155 per 100,000.
The highest-ranked UK city was Manchester, in at number seven with 114 selfie-takers per 100,000 - more than Milan, Las Vegas and Paris.
TIME reported that it counted the number of selfies captured in a five-mile radius and divided by the city’s population.
