Glasgow man arrested as bomb disposal team are called out

A man has been arrested after 'suspicious items' were found at a property in Bearsden, resulting in bomb disposal specialists being called out.

The items were discovered by police officers at a house on Henderland Road in Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire at around 3.10pm on Saturday.

A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.

Officers requested support from the fire service and an explosive ordnance disposal team.

The items were removed and there was no risk to the public, Police Scotland said.

Local streets were closed but have since reopened.
