Girls on top at St George’s with record exam results

PUPILS at St George’s School for Girls are celebrating after achieving record exam results.

Breaking its record for passes at Higher in recent years and exceeding the national pass rate of 76.9 per cent, the school achieved an impressive 97 per cent pass rate (A-C grade).

A notable 67 per cent of pupils secured grade A, 20 per cent gained straight As and 87 per cent passed at A and B grade.

There was a 97 per cent pass rate at Advanced Higher level, with 65 per cent of passes achieved at A grade.

Those sitting Standard Grades equally impressed, with 98 per cent passing with grades 1-3, and 89 per cent at credit level.

Anne Everest, head of St George’s, said: “This success means that the vast majority of our sixth year leavers will get into their first choice of university. We wish them all well in their endeavours.”
