Gibraltar fights fire after blast

Authorities were last night battling against a raging fire after an explosion at a fuel depot tank rocked the port of Gibraltar, leaving ten cruise passengers and two port workers injured.

The passengers, aboard the Independence of the Seas cruise ship, were injured following the explosion, ship owner Royal Caribbean said. The ship was docked at the cruise terminal.

A port worker involved in welding work at the tank at the time of the explosion was seriously injured and was rushed to hospital in Seville in Spain.
