Get your kit on for charity

A SERIES of football matches involving fans from various clubs are to take place across the Lothians next year.

As part of the Football Aid charity, it is hoped fixtures can go ahead at both Tynecastle and Easter Road. Organisers said the appeal of supporters playing on the “hallowed turf” of their clubs would help draw in cash for the charity and raise awareness of the cause.

Money raised will go towards the Field of Dreams organisation, which funds research into type one diabetes, and Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Chris McIntyre, the Edinburgh-based co-ordinator for the scheme, said: “We essentially offer fans the chance to play on the hallowed turf of the club they support.”

“We get full access to dressing rooms, fully-personalised club kit and post-match awards.”
