Get a taste of army life over the summer

A SUMMER Exercise Challenge giving Army Reserve recruits the opportunity to complete a full-time five-week basic training course is being held at Dreghorn Barracks.

It is designed for recruits to experience the reality of army life and the experience will undoubtedly change the lives of the 150 recruits involved.

Summer Challenge is an intensive course, where recruits learn both mental and practical military skills including personal fitness, learning to handle and fire the SA80 A2 rifle, first aid, navigational skills, marching, how to live out in the field and much more.

The residential course is aimed at those who are free of any other commitments during the
summer.
