Gavin wins green award

A MAN with learning difficulties has won a conservation award after successfully completing all levels of an environmental course.

With support from Capability Scotland, Haddington's Gavin Buglass, 42, completed the third level of the coveted John Muir Award - which urges responsibility for the natural environment - to earn the accolade.

The keen conservationist spent six months between March and September exploring two 'wild' places in Haddington and North Berwick, to achieve the final section of the award criteria. He said: "It has been a completely new experience for me doing this, my third and final, John Muir Award."
