Gardens get apple appeal

THE Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh will be celebrating 200 years of apple research with a series of events that includes tasting and a theatrical production.

Running from 10am tomorrow and into Sunday, the attraction will provide many apple varieties – supplied by the Royal Horticultural Society – for sampling.

Enthusiasts from the Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society have been experimenting with apples and how best to use them as a food crop since 1812.
