Funeral held for cyclist killed in Edinburgh

The funeral takes place today for a cyclist who died after colliding with a parked car in Edinburgh.

Andrew McNicoll, 43, died last Thursday after the accident on the city’s Lanark Road.

Police are investigating whether he hit the car after being overtaken by a lorry.

His family has set up the website Andrew Cyclist.com to raise funds to increase awareness for Scottish cyclists.

Mr McNicoll’s stepmother Lynne McNicoll, a fundraiser for a children’s cancer charity, said in the days after the accident that she and husband Ian are “determined” to ensure his death was “not in vain”.
