Fundraising for girl who can’t walk

A FUNDRAISING event is to take place for a young Lothians girl who cannot walk.

Hannah Fee’s family need to raise £40,000 to fund treatment in the US to help her walk unsupported.

The three-year-old, who suffers from cerebral palsy, is only able to stand up while holding the hand of her mother, Kirsty Dow.

Fundraising is well under way to help the youngster from Gilmerton.

The latest event will go ahead at the Sainsbury’s store at Straiton on Sunday, and organisers will have a stall selling various goods.

Doctors say a pioneering operation available in America has already helped more than 50 British youngsters with exactly the same type of cerebral palsy regain some independence.

Her parents have been told it has a 100 per cent success rate, but they need to raise the necessary cash before the treatment can be considered.

They describe their daughter as “a bright, active little girl who just wants to keep up with other children”.
