Funding puts food on table

Nine groups from Edinburgh have been chosen to receive money to support their work under a Scottish Government- funded scheme to promote healthier eating.

The groups were awarded funding from the Community Food and Health (Scotland) competitive annual grant scheme or the “January Promotion” funding programme for community-run fruit co-ops or stalls.

Voluntary and community groups and agencies working in low-income communities across Scotland will use the annual grant scheme funding to develop a wide range of practical healthy eating-related activities.

These include cookery courses for diabetics, gardening projects for people with learning disabilities and training for cookery session volunteers.
