Fringe vet to buy churches

TWO former churches in the city centre are to be bought by a veteran of the Edinburgh Fringe.

William Burdett-Coutts has struck a deal to buy the Forest Cafe building and the Roxy Art House, it was reported today.

Both properties were owned by the Edinburgh University Settlement before administrators came in to sell off the premises.

The man, who has been a director of the Assembly operation at the Edinburgh Festival for three decades, said he welcomed the chance to have a year-round presence in the Capital.
