Fox slams Salmond over corporation tax

ALEX Salmond was today accused of planning to “pamper the rich” if he wins an independent Scotland.

Scottish Socialist Party leader Colin Fox, said SNP proposals to cut corporation tax did not impress voters on the doorstep.

Speaking ahead of a public meeting in Moredun aimed at increasing support for independence, Mr Fox urged the First Minister to recognise his strategy of “promising further privileges to big business” will not lead to success in the referendum.

He said: “People already see an unelected, unaccountable, corporate banking elite wielding far too much power. Showering them with further privileges, whilst areas like Moredun carry the burden of an economic recession, they did not cause and continue to be starved of investment goes down very badly.”

The meeting is at Goodtrees Neighbourhood Centre, tomorrow at 7.30pm.
