Later that evening at around 10pm, a 21-year-old was attacked with a bottle and received a cut to the head at Gleddoch / Penilee Park in Glasgow.

None of the men’s injuries are life-threatening and none of the incidents are thought to be connected, police have said.

Detective Inspector Alan McAlpine, of Glasgow CID, said: “I wish to emphasise that attacks of this type are very rare.

Police Scotland is working with local partners in these areas to track down the people responsible for these attacks and there are also extra patrols out in these areas to reassure local people.”

Police have asked that anyone with information about these attacks contact them by speaking to a local officer, calling 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
