Prospective buyers are queuing up for mainland Britain’s most remote bookshop,

The Loch Croispol Bookshop, in Durness, Sutherland, was put up for sale last week.

The bookshop is run by Kevin Crowe, 61, and his partner Simon Long, 73, – the first gay couple in the Highlands to have a civil partnership.

Mr Crowe admitted he had some unusual requests over the years – including from a professor at Beijing University, China, who ordered all the books he had on witchcraft in Scotland!

He said: “We have been inundated this week with inquiries.”

The business has an asking price of £120,000.
