Football fan ignored his court curfew

A FOOTBALL fanatic ignored a court curfew forcing him to stay home every night by helping train a team.

Paul Storrie was arrested by police at Bathgate Sports Centre when he should have been at his home in Armadale, West Lothian, more than two miles away.

Livingston Sheriff Court was told that Storrie, 28, had spent nine weeks in custody as a result of the serious breach of bail conditions.

Storrie appeared for sentence yesterday after earlier pleading guilty to breaching the bail
curfew. He also admitted stealing copper piping from business premises in Whitburn Road, Bathgate, on June 14.

Sheriff Graeme Fleming said: “This was a blatant breach of the order – in fact,
it couldn’t be much more deliberate.”

He sentenced Storrie to 270 hours of unpaid work and put him under supervision for a year.
