Foo Fighters forced to cancel Murrayfield show

THE Foo Fighters have confirmed they will cancel their upcoming shows, including their gig at Murrayfield in Edinburgh, due to frontman Dave Grohl breaking his leg.

Grohl fell off stage in front of tens of thousands of spectators at Gothenburg on Friday.

In a statement on the band’s website, it was announced that doctors required the cancellation of the remainder of the band’s dates in the UK and Europe due to injuries sustained in Dave Grohl’s fall from the stage on June 12.

Dave Grohl posted a note for fansvowing he will do everything he can to come back and give them a night to remember as soon as possible.

The injury had already forced the band to pull out of the Pinkpop Festival and another show at the AFG Arena in St Gallen, Switzerland.

Immediately after his fall and still clinging to the microphone, the frontman told the crowd: “I think I just broke my leg. I’m going to go to hospital. I’m going to fix my leg and then I’m going to come back.”

He returned to sing for the final part of the gig, sitting in a chair with his leg in a cast.

The injured rocker was spotted out in London yesterday in a wheelchair when he headed out into the city with wife Jordyn and their daughters.

News of Grohl’s injuries sparked a flurry of concerns on social media that the Murrayfield gig would be cancelled.

@_DouglasFleming tweeted: “My summer is almost ruined if Foo Fighters cancel at Murrayfield”, while @iammcculloch wrote: “Foo Fighters cancel two shows. . . fear setting in, please don’t cancel Murrayfield.”

But @BodDamnIt wrote he was “kind of hoping” it was cancelled because “it won’t be the same without Dave jumping all over the stage”.
