Fog light drivers cop fines

POLICE handed out nearly 30 fixed penalty notices to motorists for misusing their vehicle’s front fog lights in one year, new figures have shown.

Officers issued a total of 28 fines to drivers for fog light offences in 2011, according to figures compiled and released by Lothian and Borders Police.

The police figures also revealed that two road accidents took place last year which were later attributed to a vehicle’s defective lights or indicators.
