‘Flexitarian’ eating on the increase

The number of vegetarians in Britain is expected to rise significantly over the next two years, researchers say.

Five per cent of Brits are vegetarian, but a study suggests that by 2015 the figure could be ten per cent. A rise in “flexitarianism”, or avoiding meat at certain meals, is also on the rise, according to the study commissioned by Linda McCartney foods.
