Flats plan for pub site axed

A DEVELOPER seeking to demolish a pub to make way for a new housing scheme has withdrawn plans for the project.

Eastrigg Ltd put forward a planning application for the Staiside Inn site in Rosewell, Bonnyrigg. The proposals called for the pub to be knocked down and replaced with 21 flats as well as car parking space.

The plans, submitted to Midlothian Council in November 2010, have now been withdrawn.
