Flat owners abandon 'drying green' row

FLAT owners in Edinburgh's New Town have conceded defeat in a dispute with a neighbour over access to a back garden "drying green".

Hilary Scott and Josephine Kim were dismayed by a ruling last year by the Lands Tribunal for Scotland which supported exclusive use of the garden by their downstairs neighbour, Mary McKenzie.

They had intended taking the case to the highest court in the land, but yesterday their counsel, Helen Watts, told the Court of Session in Edinburgh they would not be continuing.

"I can advise the court that the appellants in this case are abandoning their appeal."
