Five in shortlist for nation’s fashion icon

ACTRESS Louise Linton is among the favourites to be named Scottish Fashion Icon at a national awards ceremony next week.

The Capital star, who is set to feature in She Wants Me alongside Charlie Sheen, is one of five nominees ahead of the Scottish Fashion Awards. The other candidates are Doctor Who star Karen Gillan, Annie Lennox’s daughter Tali, Barrie James O’Neil and Iain De Caestecker.

Tessa Hartmann, founder and chair of the awards, said: “I love this year’s final five fashion icons. This isn’t just about style it’s about individuality, your eccentricities and personality. Society is obsessed with fashion – it’s a form of consumption, an identity maker. If that identity is a second-hand woolly jumper then it says as much about you as it does about wearing haute couture. It’s pure social reality.”

The awards ceremony takes place in Glasgow on June 11.
