Five of Scotland's scariest and weirdest spiders

The Wildlife Information Centre, the British Arachnological Society and other organisations have launched a new survey aimed at developing a more detailed picture of Scotland's eight-legged creepy crawlies.

Scotland may not have tarantulas but do we have our own share of scary spiders.

Here are five of the oddest and most frightening species which can be found north of the border. Arachnophobes should look away.
