Five hurt in two-car crash

FIVE people have been taken to hospital following a two-car head-on collision in West Lothian.

The accident took place on the A704 outside West Calder at around 1:30pm on Friday.

Four men and a woman were taken to hospital suffering from various back and abdominal injuries.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Ambulance Service described their condition as "serious but not life- threatening".
