Weekly sessions under the leadership of Sandy Wallace have seen more than 20 novices progress from gentle jogging and walking routines to running continuously for up to half an hour.
The group was set up as part of a national initiative to encourage people to do more exercise and improve their health.

Hide AdMr Wallace said: "Many people came along and were very apprehensive about what to expect, but we've all worked together encouraging each other and there is feeling of achievement all-round at the improvements made."
The group will start again after the Easter break from the North Berwick Sports Centre on Thursday nights, and a new intake of men and women beginners are invited to join in.
East Lothian's other jogscotland group, which meets at Meadowmill Sports Centre on Thursday nights, continues to offer opportunities for all levels.
