First Minister positive on Cable talks
FIRST Minister Alex Salmond welcomed what he described as a "positive" first meeting with Vince Cable, the new UK Secretary of State for Business, Innovation & Skills at Bute House in Edinburgh yesterday.

Mr Cable said the new coalition government would consider a plea from Holyrood ministers for Scotland to be able to bring forward extra spending.
The First Minister said: "This was a positive first meeting. It was very amicable, and we had a good discussion on a range of issues."
