Firms urged
to tighten
up security

BUSINESSES are being offered security advice after five men were arrested and charged following break-ins.

Police in the north of the Capital are offering free crime prevention surveys to highlight additional measures firms can take to keep thieves out.

Officers from the Safer Neighbourhoods Team at Drylaw police station will be giving out advice and have asked night-shift workers to report suspicious or unusual activity.

Inspector Mark Rennie said: “It’s really important that businesses review the robustness of the security measures they have in place.

“We’ve informed a lot of local people of the issue but worryingly we haven’t always had calls from residents when noises have been heard emanating from premises during the night. I’d like to encourage people to phone us immediately so that we get officers there quickly.”
