Firms urged to chase award

LIVINGSTON MP Graeme Morrice is urging businesses in West Lothian to seek recognition for their excellence by applying for The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.

The awards are bestowed by the Queen in three categories – innovation, international trade and sustainable development.

Entry is now open for the 2013 awards and the closing date is September 28.

Mr Morrice said: “These awards provide an opportunity for businesses to achieve global recognition of success in their respective fields. Winning can give companies a real boost, enhancing their reputation and assisting with growing the business and creating jobs. I am urging local businesses in West Lothian to follow the example of Edinburgh Instruments Ltd and enter the awards.”

Winners receive a commemorative Grant of Appointment certificate and a crystal bowl, and can display the awards emblem for five years.
