Firms eye bus pass contract

THREE firms are in the running to provide technology for concessionary travel on Scotland's buses.

Transport Minister Stewart Stevenson said three bidders had been invited to tender for the new system, which will be fully integrated with smart ticketing and will eventually be used on buses and possibly the Capital's tram line.

Mr Stevenson said: "I am pleased to see the start of tendering for this important, newer generation technology."
