Firm sets very high Standard

Standard Life has been named as Scotland’s best-run firm.

The Edinburgh-based financial services firm came out top of the 2011 Scottish Corporate Governance Index, run by Resources Global Professionals in association with Edinburgh University’s business school.

Bus firm First Group, oil giant Weir Group, investment firm Aberdeen Asset Management and energy company Scottish & Southern Energy also made it into the top five.
