Firefighters scramble to Loanhead fire

Firefighters were called by a member of the public to a two-storey building which was “well-alight” in Mayburn Terrace, Loanhead, at 12.45am today.

Five crews were scrambled to the fire which had broken out on both floors of the building, which measured 15 metres by 20 metres.

The firefighters used three lines of hose and specialist cutting equipment to deal with the blaze.

No one was in the building at the time.

The incident was over by 3am.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
