Adam Ramsay offered 1 for his 1.20 bus fare and the driver refused to accept it.
Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday heard that Ramsay, 27, told the driver: "If I wasn't being recorded I would gob in your face". Fiscal depute, Malcolm Stewart, told Sheriff Nigel Morrison QC: "Unfortunately that's exactly what he tried to do".

Hide AdRamsay's spit landed on driver Kenneth Brannan's left hand and trouser leg.
Ramsay of Marionville Park, Edinburgh, was fined 315 after pleading guilty to assaulting Mr Brannan on the bus in London Road on September 16 last year.
Defence solicitor, Cameron Tait, said his client had been late for an appointment and had dropped or lost the 20p piece.
