Film targets tar sands oil

There will be a special free screening next week of a film about the damage caused by the extraction of oil from tar sands in Alberta, Canada.

The screening of Dirty Oil, created by The Co-operative Group and The World Wildlife Fund UK will take place at 7pm on December 13 at Haddington Town House in Court Street.

Ken Greenshields of the Co-operative in Scotland, said: "The film highlights the damage that energy companies are causing in Canada, the impact this has for every single person across the world, and what we can do to help stop it."
