Fiesta hits the skids after chase

A SMASHED Ford Fiesta was found abandoned at a supermarket car park in Granton following a police chase yesterday afternoon.

The vehicle had crashed into a barrier at Morrisons at Waterfront Gait, having evaded officers during a ten-minute pursuit through areas of north Edinburgh.

It is understood police mounted the chase after the driver of the vehicle failed to stop when instructed in Telford Road.

Two males are believed to have fled the scene with a police search operation still ongoing.

Police investigators say they are following a positive line of inquiry with regards the identity of the duo.

The black Ford Fiesta that was being driven is not thought to have been stolen.
