Festival’s got right formula

ORGANISERS of Dunbar SciFest 2012 plan to double the size of this year’s festival following the success of their inaugural event.

More than 2000 people visited the festival in the first five hours in 2011 but with twice as many more science workshops, activities and demonstrations than last year, huge numbers are now anticipated.

Forthcoming highlights for 2012 include a surgeon dissecting a pig’s heart, a fossil hunt, flash freezing with liquid nitrogen, crime-scene chemistry, powerful microscopes and much more.

The festival runs on March 10 (10am-5pm) and March 11 (noon-5pm) at the John Muir Campus of Dunbar Primary School.
