Festival hits the right note

AN East Lothian music festival has been honoured at a national awards ceremony.

Trad on the Tyne, run by Haddington Pipe Band, earned a commendation in the Best Small Festival category of the recent Scottish Event Awards.

Ian Green, honorary president of Trad on the Tyne, said: “We are really thrilled to have won this commendation.

“To have received this accolade in a national competition for our very first event is very pleasing, and a real tribute to the imagination, planning and hard work of all who began the festival in 2011 and have taken it forward through the recent event.”
