Fears for safety of missing man

CONCERN is growing over the safety of a Nepalese student missing from his Capital home since Boxing Day.

Sanjay Dhital was last seen at his flat in Elm Row on December 26 and has not been in touch with his friends or family since then.

The 23-year-old is a student at Edinburgh College, and his disappearance is described as being extremely out of character.

Police are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward in a bid to trace Sanjay.

He is 5ft 6ins tall, slim, with unkempt black hair and a stubbly complexion, and police said he may now have some facial hair or a beard.

Sergeant Bob Campbell said: “As time goes on we are growing concerned for Sanjay’s safety, and would appeal for anyone who might know where he is to contact us urgently.

“We are looking to trace Sanjay to establish he is safe and well, and so would ask anyone with any information to get in touch on 0131 311 3131.”

Anyone with any information should contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131, or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
