Fears over GPs' hours

Former GP Ian McKee MSP has written to the chief executive of NHS Lothian, Professor James Barbour, seeking reassurance that Lothian doctors who work on the Out of Hours service are not over-worked.

Forty-five per cent of doctors who carry out the Out of Hours service in Lothian are GPs and the health board does not know how many hours they each work in their own practice before they go on to start OOH shifts.
