Fans send support as pregnant wife of ice hockey coach dies

THE pregnant wife of Fife Flyers ice hockey coach ToddDutiaume has died suddenly, the club’s website reported last night.

It is thought Kelly Dutiaume may have had an hereditary condition. She was said to be expecting twins but it was not clear last night if they were saved.

The club website carried a statement reading: “The Directors and Management of Fife Flyers are shocked and saddened by the sudden death of Kelly Dutiaume.

“Our thoughts, prayers and support are with Todd at this sad time and difficult time.”

As well as being a player and coach with the Kirkcaldy

club, Dutiaume is thought to work as a firefighter in the town.

Originally from Manitoba, Canada, the 38-year-old has been involved with the Flyers for several years.

Dozens of fans of the Fife club and other Elite League ice hockey clubs flooded the club internet forum and other social networks
