Family of student missing for 3 weeks ‘extremely worried’

THE family of a city student who has been missing for more than three weeks have said they are “extremely worried” about him.

Sanjay Dhital, 24, went missing from his flat in Elm Row on Boxing Day and has not been in touch with friends or family since, even missing his birthday.

His brother Sailesh Dhital said the family, who live in Kathmandu, Nepal, were desperate to hear from the Edinburgh College student, who they said kept in regular
contact with them.

Sailesh said: “We are all extremely worried about Sanjay as he is usually so good at staying in touch with us and it’s more than three weeks since we last heard from him in an online chat.

“We’re so proud of him and the hard work he puts into his studies in Edinburgh.

“He’s been there for two years now, and is in his final year – it’s not like him to miss his classes like this.

“We just want him to know that he’s not in any trouble, we just want to hear that he’s safe and well.”

Mr Dhital is described as 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build with unkempt black hair and has a stubbly complexion.

He may now be sporting a full beard.
