Family left bemused after tawny owl perches in living room
Catriona Bailey and her family were sitting down to breakfast when they noticed the tawny owl sitting on a curtain pole.
The bird had been trapped in the chimney of their Shandon home for three days before finding its way into the house.

Hide AdMrs Bailey told the Scottish Sun: “When I went to bed on Sunday night I heard owls making noises but that’s not unusual.
“On Wednesday I went into the room downstairs and it was perched on the pole. It had obviously been in the chimney for a few days.
“I shouted on my daughter Lauren as I couldn’t quite believe what I was seeing. She was quite impressed.”
She contacted the Hessilhead Wildlife Centre for help after the bird failed to make a break for freedom through open doors.
Rescuers from the centre later released it in nearby woods.
