Family finally get access to house where dad killed wife

THE family of a murdered West Lothian mother have finally been granted access to the house where her body was hidden after council bosses lifted a ban on their entry.

Carol Jarvis’ four children had been barred by council officials from retrieving mementos from the family home in Bathgate following a ruling that their killer father Harry Jarvis was technically the legal tenant and they needed this permission to enter the family home.

It has now emerged that his children have been able to retrieve possessions in the last few days, it was reported today.

The house had been locked up since Jarvis was first arrested for the 2009 murder of Carol.

Son Kevin, 26, said: “It was a relief to collect all the personal belongings we wanted. It was the final piece of the jigsaw.

“It was ludicrous that we couldn’t get access. I appreciate the council had a lot of red tape to go through, but they didn’t even seem to appreciate the problems.”
