A FAMILY yesterday branded the teenage killer of a father of five "a filthy animal" after he was found guilty of murder.

Raymond Black was found dead after a frenzied attack in his Carluke, Lanarkshire, home on 13 January. Two senior detectives said the 48-year-old's injuries, including 142 stab wounds, were the worst they had seen.

Yesterday, Mr Black's family expressed their relief as the jury unanimously found 19-year-old Peter Allen guilty of murder.

Allen, of Kirkton Street, Carluke, showed no emotion as the verdict was read out.

Speaking outside the High Court of Aberdeen, Mr Black's family said no sentence would be long enough. Mr Black's 17-year-old daughter, Sheree, said: "Peter Allen is a filthy animal and I hope he rots."

Mr Black is survived by his wife, Joanne, and children Sean, Alan, Sarah, Sheree and Rhiannon.

Lord Brodie deferred sentence pending background reports.
