Family appeal over ‘doorstep’ killing

The family of a man who was shot dead on his doorstep last week have said they were “devastated” by his killing.

Brian Harkins, 45, was killed at his house in Westmuir Place, Rutherglen, near Glasgow, at around 10am on 7 March.

During a press conference yesterday his sisters Eleanor, 54, and Maria, 52, appealed for information .

In a family statement they said: “Brian was a loving son, brother and father. His murder has left a void in all our lives which can never be filled. We will miss him every day.”
