Fake bank note fraud strikes pubs

POLICE have issued a warning after fraudsters targeted several bars in East Lothian with a counterfeit cash scam.

Pubs in Haddington, Dunbar and North Berwick were hit by two con men between 2.30pm and 7.30pm on Friday where they bought goods with forged Royal Bank of Scotland £20 notes. All have the serial number 495315 and are of very poor quality.

Both men had west coast accents and were believed to have been travelling in a red Vauxhall Zafira car.
