CITY residents have been praised for their efforts after Scotland was named a fair trade nation.
The accolade comes after the required number of councils made a commitment to the fair trade movement.
International development minister Humza Yousaf MSP said: “The people of Edinburgh have played their part in striving to make Scotland a good global citizen, committed to playing its part in addressing poverty.
“Throughout the city, individuals have worked hard to help those less fortunate and really make a difference.
“I thank every person, business and organisation who has helped Scotland towards fair trade nation status.”
